When Jesus tasted the vinegar, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and died.

Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Father, I give you my life.” After Jesus said this, he died.

How much more is done by the blood of Christ. He offered himself through the eternal Spirit as a perfect sacrifice to God. His blood will make our consciences pure from useless acts so we may serve the living God.

Then Jesus cried in a loud voice and died.

In the same way, the Son of Man did not come to be served. He came to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many people.”

There was a jar full of vinegar there, so the soldiers soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a branch of a hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ mouth.

While Jesus lived on earth, he prayed to God and asked God for help. He prayed with loud cries and tears to the One who could save him from death, and his prayer was heard because he trusted God.
