Pilate said, “I have Barabbas and Jesus. Which do you want me to set free for you?” The people answered, “Barabbas.”
You have taken my friends away from me and have made them hate me. I am trapped and cannot escape.
When the people gathered at Pilate’s house, Pilate said, “Whom do you want me to set free: Barabbas or Jesus who is called the Christ?”
But the leading priests and elders convinced the crowd to ask for Barabbas to be freed and for Jesus to be killed.
Pilate asked, “So what should I do with Jesus, the one called the Christ?” They all answered, “Crucify him!”
But when the farmers saw the son, they said to each other, ‘This son will inherit the vineyard. If we kill him, it will be ours.’
Pilate called the people together with the leading priests and the rulers.
