Knowing what had happened, Jesus said, “Why are you troubling this woman? She did an excellent thing for me.

Teach them to obey everything that I have taught you, and I will be with you always, even until the end of this age.”

I am coming to you; I will not stay in the world any longer. But they are still in the world. Holy Father, keep them safe by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they will be one, just as you and I are one.

But Jesus must stay in heaven until the time comes when all things will be made right again. God told about this time long ago when he spoke through his holy prophets.

The only thing they asked us was to remember to help the poor—something I really wanted to do.

There will always be poor people in the land, so I command you to give freely to your neighbors and to the poor and needy in your land.

Suppose someone has enough to live and sees a brother or sister in need, but does not help. Then God’s love is not living in that person.
