But the man who owned the vineyard said to one of those workers, ‘Friend, I am being fair to you. You agreed to work for one coin.
Surely you will not destroy the good people along with the evil ones; then they would be treated the same. You are the judge of all the earth. Won’t you do what is right?”
“Do you think this is fair? You say, ‘God will show that I am right,’
Would you say that I am unfair? Would you blame me to make yourself look right?
So take your pay and go. I want to give the man who was hired last the same pay that I gave you.
The man agreed to pay the workers one coin for working that day. Then he sent them into the vineyard to work.
The king said, ‘Friend, how were you allowed to come in here? You are not dressed for a wedding.’ But the man said nothing.
Jesus answered, “Friend, do what you came to do.” Then the people came and grabbed Jesus and arrested him.
You are only human, and human beings have no right to question God. An object should not ask the person who made it, “Why did you make me like this?”
