His followers discussed the meaning of this, saying, “He said this because we forgot to bring bread.”
Jesus said to them, “Be careful! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”
Knowing what they were talking about, Jesus asked them, “Why are you talking about not having bread? Your faith is small.
Tell me: When John baptized people, did that come from God or just from other people?” They argued about Jesus’ question, saying, “If we answer, ‘John’s baptism was from God,’ Jesus will say, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’
So the followers obeyed Jesus, but they discussed what he meant about rising from the dead.
While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and began walking with them,
Jesus’ followers began to have an argument about which one of them was the greatest.
But Peter said, “No, Lord! I have never eaten food that is unholy or unclean.”
