The officer answered, “Lord, I am not worthy for you to come into my house. You only need to command it, and my servant will be healed.

But she answered, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the table can eat the children’s crumbs.”

He wanted to eat only the small pieces of food that fell from the rich man’s table. And the dogs would come and lick his sores.

“The tax collector, standing at a distance, would not even look up to heaven. But he beat on his chest because he was so sad. He said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

That Scripture says “anyone” because there is no difference between those who are Jews and those who are not. The same Lord is the Lord of all and gives many blessings to all who trust in him,

We know that the law’s commands are for those who have the law. This stops all excuses and brings the whole world under God’s judgment,

Is God only the God of the Jews? Is he not also the God of those who are not Jews?

No! God will continue to be true even when every person is false. As the Scriptures say: “So you will be shown to be right when you speak, and you will win your case.”

Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with the fullness of God.

I am the least important of all God’s people, but God gave me this gift—to tell those who are not Jews the Good News about the riches of Christ, which are too great to understand fully.
