One day in the courtyards of your Temple is better than a thousand days anywhere else. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the Temple of my God than live in the homes of the wicked.

Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good that we are here. If you want, I will put up three tents here—one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

They love people to greet them with respect in the marketplaces, and they love to have people call them ‘Teacher.’

“But you must not be called ‘Teacher,’ because you have only one Teacher, and you are all brothers and sisters together.

Then Elijah and Moses appeared to them, talking with Jesus.

Peter did not know what to say, because he and the others were so frightened.

When Moses and Elijah were about to leave, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good that we are here. Let us make three tents—one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” (Peter did not know what he was talking about.)

Meanwhile, his followers were begging him, “Teacher, eat something.”

It is hard to choose between the two. I want to leave this life and be with Christ, which is much better,

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and we have not yet been shown what we will be in the future. But we know that when Christ comes again, we will be like him, because we will see him as he really is.
