Since he was the one who kept the money box, some of the followers thought Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the feast or to give something to the poor.

But Jesus answered, “Stop complaining to each other.

Philip answered, “Someone would have to work almost a year to buy enough bread for each person to have only a little piece.”

Do not complain as some of them did; they were killed by the angel that destroys.

Those who are stealing must stop stealing and start working. They should earn an honest living for themselves. Then they will have something to share with those who are poor.

Do everything without complaining or arguing.

These people complain and blame others, doing the evil things they want to do. They brag about themselves, and they flatter others to get what they want.
