Calling his followers to him, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow gave more than all those rich people.
Those who give one of these little ones a cup of cold water because they are my followers will truly get their reward.”
Then a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which were only worth a few cents.
They gave only what they did not need. This woman is very poor, but she gave all she had; she gave all she had to live on.”
Jesus said these things while he was teaching in the Temple, near where the money is kept. But no one arrested him, because the right time for him had not yet come.
The followers all decided to help the believers who lived in Judea, as much as each one could.
If you want to give, your gift will be accepted. It will be judged by what you have, not by what you do not have.
They have been tested by great troubles, and they are very poor. But they gave much because of their great joy.
