Jesus felt sorry for the man, so he reached out his hand and touched him and said, “I will. Be healed!”

Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

He spoke, and it happened. He commanded, and it appeared.

When he saw the crowds, he felt sorry for them because they were hurting and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

A man with a skin disease came to Jesus. He fell to his knees and begged Jesus, “You can heal me if you will.”

Immediately the disease left the man, and he was healed.

Jesus stood up and commanded the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind stopped, and it became completely calm.

Taking hold of the girl’s hand, he said to her, “Talitha, koum!” (This means, “Young girl, I tell you to stand up!”)

When he arrived, he saw a great crowd waiting. He felt sorry for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began to teach them many things.

The Son reflects the glory of God and shows exactly what God is like. He holds everything together with his powerful word. When the Son made people clean from their sins, he sat down at the right side of God, the Great One in heaven.

For this reason Jesus had to be made like his brothers and sisters in every way so he could be their merciful and faithful high priest in service to God. Then Jesus could die in their place to take away their sins.

For our high priest is able to understand our weaknesses. He was tempted in every way that we are, but he did not sin.
