Those who have understanding will be given more, and they will have all they need. But those who do not have understanding, even what they have will be taken away from them.

These people were more willing to listen than the people in Thessalonica. The Bereans were eager to hear what Paul and Silas said and studied the Scriptures every day to find out if these things were true.

Because God has given me a special gift, I have something to say to everyone among you. Do not think you are better than you are. You must decide what you really are by the amount of faith God has given you.

Those who think they are prophets or spiritual persons should understand that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command.

Do not fool yourselves. If you think you are wise in this world, you should become a fool so that you can become truly wise,

If you think you know something, you do not yet know anything as you should.

although I might be able to put trust in myself. If anyone thinks he has a reason to trust in himself, he should know that I have greater reason for trusting in myself.

So we must be more careful to follow what we were taught. Then we will not stray away from the truth.
