That is why I did not come to you myself. But you only need to command it, and my servant will be healed.

God gave the command and healed them, so they were saved from dying.

He spoke, and it happened. He commanded, and it appeared.

He said, “You must obey the Lord your God and do what he says is right. If you obey all his commands and keep his rules, I will not bring on you any of the sicknesses I brought on the Egyptians. I am the Lord who heals you.”

The people were so amazed they asked each other, “What is happening here? This man is teaching something new, and with authority. He even gives commands to evil spirits, and they obey him.”

The people were amazed and said to each other, “What does this mean? With authority and power he commands evil spirits, and they come out.”

Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man and said, “I will. Be healed!” Immediately the disease disappeared.

So Jesus went with the men. He was getting near the officer’s house when the officer sent friends to say, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, because I am not worthy to have you come into my house.

I, too, am a man under the authority of others, and I have soldiers under my command. I tell one soldier, ‘Go,’ and he goes. I tell another soldier, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and my servant does it.”

“Now you will see that I am the one God! There is no god but me. I send life and death; I can hurt, and I can heal. No one can escape from me.

“The Lord sends death, and he brings to life. He sends people to the grave, and he raises them to life again.
