At that time Jesus went off to a mountain to pray, and he spent the night praying to God.

My God, I call to you during the day, but you do not answer. I call at night; I am not silent.

My soul wants to be with you at night, and my spirit wants to be with you at the dawn of every day. When your way of justice comes to the land, people of the world will learn the right way of living.

Even though Daniel knew that the new law had been written, he went to pray in an upstairs room in his house, which had windows that opened toward Jerusalem. Three times each day Daniel would kneel down to pray and thank God, just as he always had done.

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a hill and sat down. His followers came to him,

When you pray, you should go into your room and close the door and pray to your Father who cannot be seen. Your Father can see what is done in secret, and he will reward you.

Early the next morning, while it was still dark, Jesus woke and left the house. He went to a lonely place, where he prayed.

Then Jesus went up on a mountain and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him.

After sending them away, he went into the hills to pray.

but Jesus often slipped away to be alone so he could pray.

But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were very angry and discussed with each other what they could do to Jesus.

Jesus and the apostles came down from the mountain, and he stood on level ground. A large group of his followers was there, as well as many people from all around Judea, Jerusalem, and the seacoast cities of Tyre and Sidon.

One time when Jesus was praying alone, his followers were with him, and he asked them, “Who do the people say I am?”

About eight days after Jesus said these things, he took Peter, John, and James and went up on a mountain to pray.

While Jesus was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became shining white.

Jesus went up on a hill and sat down there with his followers.

Continue praying, keeping alert, and always thanking God.

While Jesus lived on earth, he prayed to God and asked God for help. He prayed with loud cries and tears to the One who could save him from death, and his prayer was heard because he trusted God.

“I am sorry I made Saul king, because he has stopped following me and has not obeyed my commands.” Samuel was upset, and he cried out to the Lord all night long.
