Then starting with what Moses and all the prophets had said about him, Jesus began to explain everything that had been written about himself in the Scriptures.

God said through the prophets that his Christ would suffer and die. And now God has made these things come true in this way.

Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will give you a prophet like me, who is one of your own people. You must listen to everything he tells you.

Samuel, and all the other prophets who spoke for God after Samuel, told about this time now.

This is the same Moses that said to the people of Israel, ‘God will give you a prophet like me, who is one of your own people.’

Philip began to speak, and starting with this same Scripture, he told the man the Good News about Jesus.

So you came back and cried before the Lord, but the Lord did not listen to you; he refused to pay attention to you.

The Lord your God will give you a prophet like me, who is one of your own people. Listen to him.

Then I bowed down at the angel’s feet to worship him, but he said to me, “Do not worship me! I am a servant like you and your brothers and sisters who have the message of Jesus. Worship God, because the message about Jesus is the spirit that gives all prophecy.”
