You must hold on, so you can do what God wants and receive what he has promised.

All people will hate you because you follow me, but those people who keep their faith until the end will be saved.

because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience.

You have obeyed my teaching about not giving up your faith. So I will keep you from the time of trouble that will come to the whole world to test those who live on earth.

We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience.

Some people, by always continuing to do good, live for God’s glory, for honor, and for life that has no end. God will give them life forever.

If you are to be a prisoner, then you will be a prisoner. If you are to be killed with the sword, then you will be killed with the sword. This means that God’s holy people must have patience and faith.

Wait and trust the Lord. Don’t be upset when others get rich or when someone else’s plans succeed.

This means God’s holy people must be patient. They must obey God’s commands and keep their faith in Jesus.

We want each of you to go on with the same hard work all your lives so you will surely get what you hope for.

We continually recall before God our Father the things you have done because of your faith and the work you have done because of your love. And we thank him that you continue to be strong because of your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

But those people who keep their faith until the end will be saved.

I, John, am your brother. All of us share with Christ in suffering, in the kingdom, and in patience to continue. I was on the island of Patmos, because I had preached the word of God and the message about Jesus.

Abraham waited patiently for this to happen, and he received what God promised.

May the Lord lead your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s patience.

But we are hoping for something we do not have yet, and we are waiting for it patiently.

And the seed that fell on the good ground is like those who hear God’s teaching with good, honest hearts and obey it and patiently produce good fruit.

I waited patiently for the Lord. He turned to me and heard my cry.

Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us. The Scriptures give us patience and encouragement so that we can have hope.

I hear these things, and my body trembles; my lips tremble when I hear the sound. My bones feel weak, and my legs shake. But I will wait patiently for the day of disaster that will come to the people who attack us.

And patience produces character, and character produces hope.

Let your patience show itself perfectly in what you do. Then you will be perfect and complete and will have everything you need.
