When he was twelve years old, they went to the feast as they always did.
“So three times during every year all your males must come to worship the Lord God.
Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Passover Feast.
After the feast days were over, they started home. The boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it.
Jesus traveled to Nazareth, where he had grown up. On the Sabbath day he went to the synagogue, as he always did, and stood up to read.
When Jesus arrived in Galilee, the people there welcomed him. They had seen all the things he did at the Passover Feast in Jerusalem, because they had been there, too.
