The blind man cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

The Lord is loving. You reward people for what they have done.

A new branch will grow from a stump of a tree; so a new king will come from the family of Jesse.

“The days are coming,” says the Lord, “when I will raise up a good branch in David’s family. He will be a king who will rule in a wise way; he will do what is fair and right in the land.

All the people were amazed and said, “Perhaps this man is the Son of David!”

A Canaanite woman from that area came to Jesus and cried out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter has a demon, and she is suffering very much.”

The leading priests and the teachers of the law saw that Jesus was doing wonderful things and that the children were praising him in the Temple, saying, “Praise to the Son of David.” All these things made the priests and the teachers of the law very angry.

The people were walking ahead of Jesus and behind him, shouting, “Praise to the Son of David! God bless the One who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise to God in heaven!”

When Jesus was leaving there, two blind men followed him. They cried out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”

They told him, “Jesus, from Nazareth, is going by.”

The people leading the group warned the blind man to be quiet. But the blind man shouted even more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

The Good News is about God’s Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. As a man, he was born from the family of David. But through the Spirit of holiness he was declared to be God’s Son with great power by rising from the dead.

“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to tell you these things for the churches. I am the descendant from the family of David, and I am the bright morning star.”
