All of us are dirty with sin. All the right things we have done are like filthy pieces of cloth. All of us are like dead leaves, and our sins, like the wind, have carried us away.

They came into this land and took it for their own, but they did not obey you or follow your teachings. They did not do everything you commanded. So you made all these terrible things happen to them.

Then the master said, ‘Throw that useless servant outside, into the darkness where people will cry and grind their teeth with pain.’

While Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem, he was going through the area between Samaria and Galilee.

The servant does not get any special thanks for doing what his master commanded.

“No one has ever given God anything that he must pay back.”

All have turned away. Together, everyone has become useless. There is no one who does anything good; there is not even one.”

In the past he was useless to you, but now he has become useful for both you and me.
