In my distress, I said, “God cannot see me!” But you heard my prayer when I cried out to you for help.

I said, “My strength is gone, and I have no hope in the Lord.”

I cry out and beg for help, but he ignores my prayer.

If a person asks you for something, give it to him. Don’t refuse to give to someone who wants to borrow from you.

Yes, everyone who asks will receive. Everyone who searches will find. And everyone who knocks will have the door opened.

If your children ask for a fish, which of you would give them a snake instead?

So I tell you, ask, and God will give to you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will open for you.

Then Jesus used this story to teach his followers that they should always pray and never lose hope.

Or when you ask, you do not receive because the reason you ask is wrong. You want things so you can use them for your own pleasures.

We say they are happy because they did not give up. You have heard about Job’s patience, and you know the Lord’s purpose for him in the end. You know the Lord is full of mercy and is kind.
