The people held him as a prisoner while they waited for the Lord’s command to be made clear to them.

So Moses brought their case to the Lord,

They held the man under guard, because they did not know what to do with him.

If you do this as God commands you, then you will be able to do your job, and all the people will go home with their disagreements solved.”

Then the Lord said to Moses,

Moses said to them, “Wait, and I will find out what the Lord says about you.”
