You must not eat the meat from these animals or even touch their dead bodies; they are unclean for you.

You people, leave, leave; get out of Babylon! Touch nothing that is unclean. You men who carry the Lord’s things used in worship, leave there and make yourselves pure.

The people will not stay in the Lord’s land. Israel will return to being captives as they were in Egypt, and in Assyria they will eat food that they are not allowed to eat.

Now the pig has a split hoof that is completely divided, but it does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you.

“ ‘Of the animals that live in the sea or in a river, if the animal has fins and scales, you may eat it.

“ ‘Or someone might touch something unclean, such as the dead body of an unclean wild animal or an unclean farm animal or an unclean crawling animal. Even if he does not know that he touched it, he will still be unclean and guilty of sin.

It is not what people put into their mouths that makes them unclean. It is what comes out of their mouths that makes them unclean.”

These things make people unclean; eating with unwashed hands does not make them unclean.”

There is nothing people put into their bodies that makes them unclean. People are made unclean by the things that come out of them. [

Jesus said, “Do you still not understand? Surely you know that nothing that enters someone from the outside can make that person unclean.

They saw that some of Jesus’ followers ate food with hands that were not clean, that is, they hadn’t washed them.

He said, “You people understand that it is against our law for Jewish people to associate with or visit anyone who is not Jewish. But God has shown me that I should not call any person ‘unholy’ or ‘unclean.’

Stay away from any food that has been offered to idols, eating any animals that have been strangled, and blood, and any kind of sexual sin. If you stay away from these things, you will do well. Good-bye.

It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that will cause your brother or sister to sin.

But food will not bring us closer to God. Refusing to eat does not make us less pleasing to God, and eating does not make us better in God’s sight.

“Leave those people, and be separate, says the Lord. Touch nothing that is unclean, and I will accept you.”

Have nothing to do with the things done in darkness, which are not worth anything. But show that they are wrong.

So have nothing to do with them.

So do not let anyone make rules for you about eating and drinking or about a religious feast, a New Moon Festival, or a Sabbath day.

These gifts and sacrifices were only about food and drink and special washings. They were rules for the body, to be followed until the time of God’s new way.
