Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here. The Lord has sent me to the Jordan River.” Elisha answered, “As the Lord lives, and as you live, I won’t leave you.” So the two of them went on.

Then Joshua said to the Israelites, “Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God.

After they finished crossing the river, the priests carried the Ark of the Lord to the other side as the people watched.
