Always remember what is written in the Book of the Teachings. Study it day and night to be sure to obey everything that is written there. If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything.

Those who know my commands and obey them are the ones who love me, and my Father will love those who love me. I will love them and will show myself to them.”

When you talk, do not say harmful things, but say what people need—words that will help others become stronger. Then what you say will do good to those who listen to you.

After Moses finished writing all the words of the teachings in a book,

Moses called all the people of Israel together and said: Listen, Israel, to the commands and laws I am giving you today. Learn them and obey them carefully.

So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you, and follow the commands exactly.

Let the teaching of Christ live in you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and instruct each other by singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Be strong and brave. Be sure to obey all the teachings my servant Moses gave you. If you follow them exactly, you will be successful in everything you do.

Then Joshua read all the words of the teachings, the blessings and the curses, exactly as they were written in the Book of the Teachings.
