Then God said to Moses, “I am who I am. When you go to the people of Israel, tell them, ‘I am sent me to you.’ ”

He was there before anything was made, and all things continue because of him.

And now, Father, give me glory with you; give me the glory I had with you before the world was made.

The Lord, the king of Israel, is the Lord All-Powerful, who saves Israel. This is what he says: “I am the beginning and the end. I am the only God.

The Lord God says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega. I am the One who is and was and is coming. I am the Almighty.”

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

“Father, I want these people that you gave me to be with me where I am. I want them to see my glory, which you gave me because you loved me before the world was made.

“People of Jacob, listen to me. People of Israel, I have called you to be my people. I am God; I am the beginning and the end.

“Write this to the angel of the church in Smyrna: “The One who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again, says this:

A child has been born to us; God has given a son to us. He will be responsible for leading the people. His name will be Wonderful Counselor, Powerful God, Father Who Lives Forever, Prince of Peace.

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are too small to be among the army groups from Judah, from you will come one who will rule Israel for me. He comes from very old times, from days long ago.”

“I have always been God. No one can save people from my power; when I do something, no one can change it.”

Remember what happened long ago. Remember that I am God, and there is no other God. I am God, and there is no one like me.

Don’t be afraid! Don’t worry! I have always told you what will happen. You are my witnesses. There is no other God but me. I know of no other Rock; I am the only One.”

I tell you the truth, whoever obeys my teaching will never die.”

The voice said, “Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”

Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, everyone who lives in sin is a slave to sin.

So I told you that you would die in your sins. Yes, you will die in your sins if you don’t believe that I am he.”

So Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, you will know that I am he. You will know that these things I do are not by my own authority but that I say only what the Father has taught me.

Jesus answered, “I told you already, but you did not believe. The miracles I do in my Father’s name show who I am.
