Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I say to you don’t come from me, but the Father lives in me and does his own work.

Those who do not love me do not obey my teaching. This teaching that you hear is not really mine; it is from my Father, who sent me.

I have given them your teaching. And the world has hated them, because they don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world.

I gave them the teachings you gave me, and they accepted them. They knew that I truly came from you, and they believed that you sent me.

I tell you the truth, we talk about what we know, and we tell about what we have seen, but you don’t accept what we tell you.

“The One who comes from above is greater than all. The one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and talks about things on the earth. But the One who comes from heaven is greater than all.

“I can do nothing alone. I judge only the way I am told, so my judgment is fair. I don’t try to please myself, but I try to please the One who sent me.

The Father is the One who sent me. No one can come to me unless the Father draws him to me, and I will raise that person up on the last day.

So Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, you will know that I am he. You will know that these things I do are not by my own authority but that I say only what the Father has taught me.

Anyone who goes beyond Christ’s teaching and does not continue to follow only his teaching does not have God. But whoever continues to follow the teaching of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

This is the revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to show his servants what must soon happen. And Jesus sent his angel to show it to his servant John,
