In the beginning God created the sky and the earth.

Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image and likeness. And let them rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the tame animals, over all the earth, and over all the small crawling animals on the earth.”

People will say about me, ‘Goodness and power come only from the Lord.’ ” Everyone who has been angry with him will come to him and be ashamed.

But I, the Lord, look into a person’s heart and test the mind. So I can decide what each one deserves; I can give each one the right payment for what he does.”

After walking a little farther away from them, Jesus fell to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, do not give me this cup of suffering. But do what you want, not what I want.”

I will give you the wisdom to say things that none of your enemies will be able to stand against or prove wrong.

No one takes it away from me; I give my own life freely. I have the right to give my life, and I have the right to take it back. This is what my Father commanded me to do.”

The things I taught were not from myself. The Father who sent me told me what to say and what to teach.

And I know that eternal life comes from what the Father commands. So whatever I say is what the Father told me to say.”

Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I say to you don’t come from me, but the Father lives in me and does his own work.

Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will build it again in three days.”

Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot be in God’s kingdom.”

Just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to those he wants to.

I came down from heaven to do what God wants me to do, not what I want to do.

So Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, you will know that I am he. You will know that these things I do are not by my own authority but that I say only what the Father has taught me.

While it is daytime, we must continue doing the work of the One who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.

God raised Jesus from the dead and set him free from the pain of death, because death could not hold him.

When we were baptized, we were buried with Christ and shared his death. So, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the wonderful power of the Father, we also can live a new life.

God raised Jesus from the dead, and if God’s Spirit is living in you, he will also give life to your bodies that die. God is the One who raised Christ from the dead, and he will give life through his Spirit that lives in you.

Now since we preached that Christ was raised from the dead, why do some of you say that people will not be raised from the dead?

God raised the Lord Jesus from the dead, and we know that God will also raise us with Jesus. God will bring us together with you, and we will stand before him.

because we must all stand before Christ to be judged. Each of us will receive what we should get—good or bad—for the things we did in the earthly body.

Though we were spiritually dead because of the things we did against God, he gave us new life with Christ. You have been saved by God’s grace.

I ask the Father in his great glory to give you the power to be strong inwardly through his Spirit.

By his power to rule all things, he will change our humble bodies and make them like his own glorious body.

I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength.

God will strengthen you with his own great power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be patient.

Through his power all things were made—things in heaven and on earth, things seen and unseen, all powers, authorities, lords, and rulers. All things were made through Christ and for Christ.

We believe that Jesus died and that he rose again. So, because of him, God will raise with Jesus those who have died.

Christ himself suffered for sins once. He was not guilty, but he suffered for those who are guilty to bring you to God. His body was killed, but he was made alive in the spirit.

I will also kill her followers. Then all the churches will know I am the One who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you for what you have done.
