There was a man named Nicodemus who was one of the Pharisees and an important Jewish leader.

Pilate called the people together with the leading priests and the rulers.

Nicodemus, who earlier had come to Jesus at night, went with Joseph. He brought about seventy-five pounds of myrrh and aloes.

Jesus said, “You are an important teacher in Israel, and you don’t understand these things?

But he is teaching where everyone can see and hear him, and no one is trying to stop him. Maybe the leaders have decided he really is the Christ.
