He bent down and looked in and saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, but he did not go in.
The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with pieces of cloth, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take the cloth off of him and let him go.”
These two men took Jesus’ body and wrapped it with the spices in pieces of linen cloth, which is how they bury the dead.
But Mary stood outside the tomb, crying. As she was crying, she bent down and looked inside the tomb.
They were both running, but the other follower ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first.
Then following him, Simon Peter arrived and went into the tomb and saw the strips of linen lying there.
