Fools say to themselves, “There is no God.” Fools are evil and do terrible things; there is no one who does anything good.

Good people care about justice for the poor, but the wicked are not concerned.

Since he was the one who kept the money box, some of the followers thought Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the feast or to give something to the poor.

The only thing they asked us was to remember to help the poor—something I really wanted to do.

and stay away from everything that is evil.

Suppose someone comes into your church meeting wearing nice clothes and a gold ring. At the same time a poor person comes in wearing old, dirty clothes.

But you show no respect to the poor. The rich are always trying to control your lives. They are the ones who take you to court.
