Because of Lazarus many of the Jews were leaving them and believing in Jesus.
Many of the people, who had come to visit Mary and saw what Jesus did, believed in him.
Many people went out to meet Jesus, because they had heard about this miracle.
Seeing the crowd, the Jewish people became very jealous and said insulting things and argued against what Paul said.
If we let him continue doing these things, everyone will believe in him. Then the Romans will come and take away our Temple and our nation.”
But many of the people believed in Jesus. They said, “When the Christ comes, will he do more miracles than this man has done?”
I know that you always hear me, but I said these things because of the people here around me. I want them to believe that you sent me.”
So the leading priests made plans to kill Lazarus, too.
But many believed in Jesus, even many of the leaders. But because of the Pharisees, they did not say they believed in him for fear they would be put out of the synagogue.
