He said, “How terrible for you, Korazin! How terrible for you, Bethsaida! If the same miracles I did in you had happened in Tyre and Sidon, those people would have changed their lives a long time ago. They would have worn rough cloth and put ashes on themselves to show they had changed.

Immediately Jesus told his followers to get into the boat and go ahead of him to Bethsaida across the lake. He stayed there to send the people home.

Jesus and his followers came to Bethsaida. There some people brought a blind man to Jesus and begged him to touch the man.

When the apostles returned, they told Jesus everything they had done. Then Jesus took them with him to a town called Bethsaida where they could be alone together.

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”

Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the man that Moses wrote about in the law, and the prophets also wrote about him. He is Jesus, the son of Joseph, from Nazareth.”

But Nathanael said to Philip, “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Philip answered, “Come and see.”

Nathanael asked, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered, “I saw you when you were under the fig tree, before Philip told you about me.”

They went to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and said, “Sir, we would like to see Jesus.”

Philip told Andrew, and then Andrew and Philip told Jesus.

When Jesus looked up and saw a large crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where can we buy enough bread for all these people to eat?”

Philip answered, “Someone would have to work almost a year to buy enough bread for each person to have only a little piece.”

When they entered the city, they went to the upstairs room where they were staying. Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon (known as the Zealot), and Judas son of James were there.
