When Rachel saw that she was not having children for Jacob, she envied her sister Leah. She said to Jacob, “Give me children, or I’ll die!”

Some fools turned against God and suffered for the evil they did.

I say to those who are proud, ‘Don’t brag,’ and to the wicked, ‘Don’t show your power.

Stupid people don’t know these things, and fools don’t understand.

Fools quickly show that they are upset, but the wise ignore insults.

Those who obey the commands protect themselves, but those who are careless will die.

People with quick tempers will have to pay for it. If you help them out once, you will have to do it again.

Stone is heavy, and sand is weighty, but a complaining fool is worse than either.

You who are uneducated, seek wisdom. You who are foolish, get understanding.

Don’t become angry quickly, because getting angry is foolish.

Israel has become like a pigeon— easy to fool and stupid. First they call to Egypt for help. Then they run to Assyria.

But God said to Jonah, “Do you think it is right for you to be angry about the plant?” Jonah answered, “It is right for me to be angry! I am so angry I could die!”

But other people are selfish. They refuse to follow truth and, instead, follow evil. God will give them his punishment and anger.

Some of them go into homes and get control of silly women who are full of sin and are led by many evil desires.
