The wise are known for their understanding. Their pleasant words make them better teachers.

Make the weak hands strong and the weak knees steady.

The Lord God gave me the ability to teach so that I know what to say to make the weak strong. Every morning he wakes me. He teaches me to listen like a student.

By your lies you have caused those who did right to be sad, when I did not make them sad. And you have encouraged the wicked not to stop being wicked, which would have saved their lives.

On that day Jerusalem will be told, “Don’t be afraid, city of Jerusalem. Don’t give up.

I have prayed that you will not lose your faith! Help your brothers be stronger when you come back to me.”

Then an angel from heaven appeared to him to strengthen him.

When you talk, do not say harmful things, but say what people need—words that will help others become stronger. Then what you say will do good to those who listen to you.

Appoint Joshua and help him be brave and strong. He will lead the people across the river and give them the land that they are to inherit, but you can only look at it.”

When you talk, you should always be kind and pleasant so you will be able to answer everyone in the way you should.
