Let that night be empty, with no shout of joy to be heard.
Let thick darkness capture that night. Don’t count it among the days of the year or put it in any of the months.
Let those who curse days curse that day. Let them prepare to wake up the sea monster Leviathan.
The happy music of the tambourines will end. The happy sounds of wild parties will stop. The joyful music from the harps will end.
I will end the happy sounds of the bride and bridegroom. There will be no happy sounds in the cities of Judah or in the streets of Jerusalem, because the land will become an empty desert!
