People did not think it was important to have a true knowledge of God. So God left them and allowed them to have their own worthless thinking and to do things they should not do.

Don’t use your body for sexual sin like the people who do not know God.

Then he will punish those who do not know God and who do not obey the Good News about our Lord Jesus Christ.

They say they know God, but their actions show they do not accept him. They are hateful people, they refuse to obey, and they are useless for doing anything good.

After those people had died, their children grew up and did not know the Lord or what he had done for Israel.

Now Eli’s sons were evil men; they did not care about the Lord.
