“But, all of you, come and try again! I do not find a wise person among you.

“You really think you are the only wise people and that when you die, wisdom will die with you!

You don’t know any more than we know. You don’t understand any more than we understand.

My days are gone, and my plans have been destroyed, along with the desires of my heart.

You have closed their minds to understanding. Do not let them win over me.

You think of us as cattle, as if we are stupid.

It is not just older people who are wise; they are not the only ones who understand what is right.

After the Lord had said these things to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not said what is right about me, as my servant Job did.

Change your mind; do not be unfair; think again, because my innocence is being questioned.

You will again see the difference between good and evil people, between those who serve God and those who don’t.

Where is the wise person? Where is the educated person? Where is the skilled talker of this world? God has made the wisdom of the world foolish.

I say this to shame you. Surely there is someone among you wise enough to judge a complaint between believers.
