How terrible it will be for me if I am guilty! Even if I am right, I cannot lift my head. I am full of shame and experience only pain.

You know I am not guilty, but no one can save me from your power.

When I think about this, I am terribly afraid and my body shakes.

That is why I am frightened of him; when I think of this, I am afraid of him.

“Let my enemies be like evil people, my foes like those who are wrong.

Change your mind; do not be unfair; think again, because my innocence is being questioned.

If he snatches something away, no one can stop him or say to him, ‘What are you doing?’

Even if I were right, I could not answer him; I could only beg God, my Judge, for mercy.

I have already been found guilty, so why should I struggle for no reason?

See my suffering and rescue me, because I have not forgotten your teachings.

Look at my suffering and troubles, and take away all my sins.

My enemy is getting even with insults and curses.

Cover them with shame. Then people will look for you, Lord.

Wicked people will go to the grave, and so will all those who forget God.

The Lord said, “I have seen the troubles my people have suffered in Egypt, and I have heard their cries when the Egyptian slave masters hurt them. I am concerned about their pain,

But how terrible it will be for the wicked! They will be punished for all the wrong they have done.

I said, “Oh, no! I will be destroyed. I am not pure, and I live among people who are not pure, but I have seen the King, the Lord All-Powerful.”

“Look at me, Lord. I am upset and greatly troubled. My heart is troubled, because I have been so stubborn. Out in the streets, the sword kills; inside the houses, death destroys.

You will again see the difference between good and evil people, between those who serve God and those who don’t.

It is the same with you. When you have done everything you are told to do, you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done the work we should do.’ ”
