A lazy person affects the one he works for like vinegar on the teeth or smoke in the eyes.

The Lord hates those who are proud. They will surely be punished.

Some people think they are pure, but they are not really free from evil.

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked Jesus’ followers, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law began to complain: “Look, this man welcomes sinners and even eats with them.”

But the Pharisees and the men who taught the law for the Pharisees began to complain to Jesus’ followers, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”

When the Pharisee who asked Jesus to come to his house saw this, he thought to himself, “If Jesus were a prophet, he would know that the woman touching him is a sinner!”

The Lord will not forgive them. His anger will be like a burning fire against those people, and all the curses written in this book will come on them. The Lord will destroy any memory of them on the earth.

But God gives us even more grace, as the Scripture says, “God is against the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.”

In the same way, younger people should be willing to be under older people. And all of you should be very humble with each other. “God is against the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.”

These are the people who divide you, people whose thoughts are only of this world, who do not have the Spirit.
