All of us are dirty with sin. All the right things we have done are like filthy pieces of cloth. All of us are like dead leaves, and our sins, like the wind, have carried us away.

They all become afraid and tremble in their hiding places.

No one can bring something clean from something dirty.

So no one can be good in the presence of God, and no one born to a woman can be pure.

“I am not worthy; I cannot answer you anything, so I will put my hand over my mouth.

But wicked people are not like that. They are like chaff that the wind blows away.

Don’t the wicked understand? They destroy my people as if they were eating bread. They do not ask the Lord for help.

I came home and found no one there; I called, but no one answered. Do you think I am not able to save you? Do I not have the power to save you? Look, I need only to shout and the sea becomes dry. I change rivers into a desert, and their fish rot because there is no water; they die of thirst.

We all have wandered away like sheep; each of us has gone his own way. But the Lord has put on him the punishment for all the evil we have done.

I said, “Oh, no! I will be destroyed. I am not pure, and I live among people who are not pure, but I have seen the King, the Lord All-Powerful.”

I will wait for the Lord to help us, the Lord who is ashamed of the family of Israel. I will wait for him.

All this disaster came to us just as it is written in the Teachings of Moses. But we have not pleaded with the Lord our God. We have not stopped sinning. We have not paid attention to your truth.

They will be swept away as if by a whirlwind, and their sacrifices will bring them only shame.

All these people are as hot as an oven; they burn up their rulers. All their kings fall, and no one calls on me.
