Isaiah 28:13

So the words of the Lord will be, “A command here, a command there. A rule here, a rule there. A little lesson here, a little lesson there.” They will fall back and be defeated; they will be trapped and captured.

Let their own feasts cause their ruin; let their feasts trap them and pay them back.

So they make fun of the Lord’s prophet and say: “A command here, a command there. A rule here, a rule there. A little lesson here, a little lesson there.”

We are like the blind feeling our way along a wall. We feel our way as if we had no eyes. In the brightness of day we trip as if it were night. We are like dead men among the strong.

I have warned you by my prophets that I will kill you and destroy you. My justice comes out like bright light.

I have written many teachings for them, but they think the teachings are strange and foreign.

And David says: “Let their own feasts trap them and cause their ruin; let their feasts cause them to stumble and be paid back.

To those who are lost, we are the smell of death that brings death, but to those who are being saved, we are the smell of life that brings life. So who is able to do this work?

He writes about this in all his letters. Some things in Paul’s letters are hard to understand, and people who are ignorant and weak in faith explain these things falsely. They also falsely explain the other Scriptures, but they are destroying themselves by doing this.
