Some people are like land that gets plenty of rain. The land produces a good crop for those who work it, and it receives God’s blessings.

Then God said, “Let the earth produce plants—some to make grain for seeds and others to make fruits with seeds in them. Every seed will produce more of its own kind of plant.” And it happened.

So Jacob went to his father and kissed him. When Isaac smelled Esau’s clothes, he blessed him and said, “The smell of my son is like the smell of the field that the Lord has blessed.

Those who cry as they carry out the seeds will return singing and carrying bundles of grain.

They will receive a blessing from the Lord; the God who saves them will declare them right.

I will pour out water for the thirsty land and make streams flow on dry land. I will pour out my Spirit into your children and my blessing on your descendants.

I will bless them and let them live around my hill. I will cause the rains to come when it is time; there will be showers to bless them.

I said, ‘Plant goodness, harvest the fruit of loyalty, plow the new ground of knowledge. Look for the Lord until he comes and pours goodness on you like water.’

I will send you such a great blessing during the sixth year that the land will produce enough crops for three years.

Bring to the storehouse a full tenth of what you earn so there will be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord All-Powerful. “I will open the windows of heaven for you and pour out all the blessings you need.

Yes, everyone who asks will receive. Everyone who searches will find. And everyone who knocks will have the door opened.

The farmer who works hard should be the first person to get some of the food that was grown.

Brothers and sisters, be patient until the Lord comes again. A farmer patiently waits for his valuable crop to grow from the earth and for it to receive the autumn and spring rains.
