Lord, you live forever, my God, my holy God. We will not die. Lord, you have chosen the Babylonians to punish people; our Rock, you picked them to punish.

Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba and prayed to the Lord, the God who lives forever.

“ ‘King of Assyria, surely you have heard. Long ago I, the Lord, planned these things. Long ago I designed them, and now I have made them happen. I allowed you to turn those strong, walled cities into piles of rocks.

So I said, “My God, do not take me in the middle of my life. Your years go on and on.

I will not die, but live, and I will tell what the Lord has done.

Let the Israelites be happy because of God, their Maker. Let the people of Jerusalem rejoice because of their King.

Lord, rise up, face the enemy, and throw them down. Save me from the wicked with your sword.

I love you, Lord. You are my strength.

God, you have been our king for a long time. You bring salvation to the earth.

Lord, you have been our home since the beginning.

Before the mountains were born and before you created the earth and the world, you are God. You have always been, and you will always be.

Lord, your kingdom was set up long ago; you are everlasting.

How terrible it will be for those people who go down to Egypt for help. They think horses will save them. They think their many chariots and strong horsemen will save them. But they don’t trust God, the Holy One of Israel, or ask the Lord for help.

You have insulted me and spoken against me; you have raised your voice against me. You have a proud look on your face, which is against me, the Holy One of Israel!

“ ‘King of Assyria, surely you have heard. Long ago I, the Lord, planned these things. Long ago I designed them, and now I have made them happen. I allowed you to turn those strong, walled cities into piles of rocks.

Surely you know. Surely you have heard. The Lord is the God who lives forever, who created all the world. He does not become tired or need to rest. No one can understand how great his wisdom is.

I am the Lord, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.”

The Lord who saves you is the Holy One of Israel. He speaks to the one who is hated by the people, to the servant of rulers. This is what he says: “Kings will see you and stand to honor you; great leaders will bow down before you, because the Lord can be trusted. He is the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

And this is the reason: God lives forever and is holy. He is high and lifted up. He says, “I live in a high and holy place, but I also live with people who are sad and humble. I give new life to those who are humble and to those whose hearts are broken.

I am with you and will save you,” says the Lord. “I will completely destroy all those nations where I scattered you, but I will not completely destroy you. I will punish you fairly, but I will still punish you.”

This is what the Lord says: “All the land will be ruined, but I will not completely destroy it.

People of Jacob, my servants, do not be afraid, because I am with you,” says the Lord. “I will completely destroy the many different nations where I scattered you. But I will not completely destroy you. I will punish you fairly, but I will not let you escape your punishment.”

“Yet even then,” says the Lord, “I will not destroy you completely.

But you rule forever, Lord. You will be King from now on.

So I will make the arms of the king of Babylon strong, but the arms of the king of Egypt will fall. Then people will know that I am the Lord when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he uses it in war against Egypt.

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are too small to be among the army groups from Judah, from you will come one who will rule Israel for me. He comes from very old times, from days long ago.”

Lord, I have heard the news about you; I am amazed at what you have done. Lord, do great things once again in our time; make those things happen again in our own days. Even when you are angry, remember to be kind.

He stands and shakes the earth. He looks, and the nations shake with fear. The mountains, which stood for ages, break into pieces; the old hills fall down. God has always done this.

The Lord All-Powerful says, “Then I will come to you and judge you. I will be quick to testify against those who take part in evil magic, adultery, and lying under oath, those who cheat workers of their pay and who cheat widows and orphans, those who are unfair to foreigners, and those who do not respect me.

“I the Lord do not change. So you descendants of Jacob have not been destroyed.

You did not want the One who is holy and good but asked Pilate to give you a murderer instead.

He is like a rock; what he does is perfect, and he is always fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong, who is right and fair.

The everlasting God is your place of safety, and his arms will hold you up forever. He will force your enemy out ahead of you, saying, ‘Destroy the enemy!’

To the King that rules forever, who will never die, who cannot be seen, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

He is the only One who never dies. He lives in light so bright no one can go near it. No one has ever seen God, or can see him. May honor and power belong to God forever. Amen.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

The voice said, “Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”

The Lord God says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega. I am the One who is and was and is coming. I am the Almighty.”

“There is no one holy like the Lord. There is no God but you; there is no Rock like our God.
