When Noah was six hundred years old, the flood started. On the seventeenth day of the second month of that year the underground springs split open, and the clouds in the sky poured out rain.

So God made the air and placed some of the water above the air and some below it.

I will bring a flood of water on the earth to destroy all living things that live under the sky, including everything that has the breath of life. Everything on the earth will die.

Noah was six hundred years old when the flood came.

By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the land was completely dry.

The underground springs stopped flowing, and the clouds in the sky stopped pouring down rain.

But the officer had answered, “Even if the Lord opened windows in the sky, that couldn’t happen.” And Elisha had told him, “You will see it with your eyes, but you won’t eat any of it.”

If God holds back the waters, there is no rain; if he lets the waters go, they flood the land.

Miners dig a tunnel far from where people live, where no one has ever walked; they work far from people, swinging and swaying from ropes.

He gathered the water of the sea into a heap. He made the great ocean stay in its place.

You opened up the springs and streams and made the flowing rivers run dry.

With his knowledge, he made springs flow into rivers and the clouds drop rain on the earth.

Anyone who tries to escape from the sound of terror will fall into a hole. Anyone who climbs out of the hole will be caught in a trap. The clouds in the sky will pour out rain, and the foundations of the earth will shake.

The earth will be broken up; the earth will split open; the earth will shake violently.

Surely you are afraid of me,” says the Lord. “You should shake with fear in my presence. I am the one who made the beaches to be a border for the sea, a border the water can never go past. The waves may pound the beach, but they can’t win over it. They may roar, but they cannot go beyond it.

When he thunders, the waters in the skies roar. He makes clouds rise in the sky all over the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

“This is what the Lord God says: I will make you an empty city, like cities that have no people living in them. I will bring the deep ocean waters over you, and the Mediterranean Sea will cover you.

Bring to the storehouse a full tenth of what you earn so there will be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord All-Powerful. “I will open the windows of heaven for you and pour out all the blessings you need.

In those days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving their children to be married, until the day Noah entered the boat.

While people are saying, “We have peace and we are safe,” they will be destroyed quickly. It is like pains that come quickly to a woman having a baby. Those people will not escape.

Then the world was flooded and destroyed with water.
