Then the Lord said to Noah, “I have seen that you are the best person among the people of this time, so you and your family can go into the boat.

But I will make an agreement with you—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives will all go into the boat.

This is the family history of Noah. Noah was a good man, the most innocent man of his time, and he walked with God.

On that same day Noah and his wife, his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and their wives went into the boat.

He and his wife and his sons and their wives went into the boat to escape the waters of the flood.

I am innocent before him; I have kept myself from doing evil.

The honest person will live in safety, but the dishonest will be caught.

Those who respect the Lord will have security, and their children will be protected.

Zechariah and Elizabeth truly did what God said was good. They did everything the Lord commanded and were without fault in keeping his law.

When the Son of Man comes again, it will be as it was when Noah lived.

This promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away. It is for everyone the Lord our God calls to himself.”

It was by faith that Noah heard God’s warnings about things he could not yet see. He obeyed God and built a large boat to save his family. By his faith, Noah showed that the world was wrong, and he became one of those who are made right with God through faith.

who refused to obey God long ago in the time of Noah. God was waiting patiently for them while Noah was building the boat. Only a few people—eight in all—were saved by water.
