After these things happened, the Lord spoke his word to Abram in a vision: “Abram, don’t be afraid. I will defend you, and I will give you a great reward.”

That night the Lord said to Gideon, “Get up. Go down and attack the camp of the Midianites, because I will give them to you.

The Lord came and stood there and called as he had before, “Samuel, Samuel!” Samuel said, “Speak, Lord. I am your servant and I am listening.”

Then the Lord called Samuel, and Samuel answered, “I am here!”
