The man and his wife were naked, but they were not ashamed.

God asked, “Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat fruit from the tree from which I commanded you not to eat?”

Then, it was as if their eyes were opened. They realized they were naked, so they sewed fig leaves together and made something to cover themselves.

That is why I am frightened of him; when I think of this, I am afraid of him.

People will see your nakedness; they will see your shame. I will punish you; I will punish every one of you.”

“Whom were you so afraid of that you lied to me? You have not remembered me or even thought about me. I have been quiet for a long time. Is that why you are not afraid of me?

But now, we will die! This great fire will burn us up, and we will die if we hear the Lord our God speak anymore.

“Listen! I will come as a thief comes! Blessed are those who stay awake and keep their clothes on so that they will not walk around naked and have people see their shame.”
