Hagar gave birth to a son for Abram, and Abram named him Ishmael.

The angel added, “You are now pregnant, and you will have a son. You will name him Ishmael, because the Lord has heard your cries.

So the well there, between Kadesh and Bered, was called Beer Lahai Roi.

Now Esau already had wives, but he went to Ishmael son of Abraham, and he married Mahalath, Ishmael’s daughter. Mahalath was the sister of Nebaioth.

Let’s sell him to these Ishmaelites. Then we will not be guilty of killing our own brother. After all, he is our brother, our own flesh and blood.” And the other brothers agreed.

Abraham’s sons were Isaac and Ishmael.
