God named the dry land “earth” and the water that was gathered together “seas.” God saw that this was good.
God saw that the light was good, so he divided the light from the darkness.
May the glory of the Lord be forever. May the Lord enjoy what he has made.
He made heaven and earth, the sea and everything in it. He remains loyal forever.
He gathered the water of the sea into a heap. He made the great ocean stay in its place.
The sea is his because he made it, and he created the land with his own hands.
Then Jonah said to them, “I am a Hebrew. I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the land.”
He is like a rock; what he does is perfect, and he is always fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong, who is right and fair.
