You, all your troops, and the nations with you will fall dead on the mountains of Israel. I will let you be food for every bird that eats meat and for every wild animal.

The Lord All-Powerful has made this promise: “These things will happen exactly as I planned them; they will happen exactly as I set them up.

I will destroy the king of Assyria in my country; I will trample him on my mountains. He placed a heavy load on my people, but that weight will be removed.

“I will send four kinds of destroyers against them,” says the Lord. “I will send war to kill, dogs to drag the bodies away, and the birds of the air and wild animals to eat and destroy the bodies.

At that time those killed by the Lord will reach from one end of the earth to the other. No one will cry for them or gather up their bodies and bury them. They will be left lying on the ground like dung.

I will leave you in the desert, you and all the fish from your rivers. You will fall onto the ground; you will not be picked up or buried. I have given you to the wild animals and to the birds of the sky for food.

“Say to them: ‘This is what the Lord God says: As surely as I live, those who are among the city ruins in Israel will be killed in war. I will cause those who live in the country to be eaten by wild animals. People hiding in the strongholds and caves will die of disease.

I will fill its mountains with those who are killed. Those killed in war will fall on your hills, in your valleys, and in all your ravines.

Then I will call for a war against Gog on all my mountains, says the Lord God. Everyone’s sword will attack the soldier next to him.

You will lie fallen on the ground, because I have spoken, says the Lord God.

Horses are charging, swords are shining, spears are gleaming! Many are dead; their bodies are piled up— too many to count. People stumble over the dead bodies.
