He said to me, “Human, eat this scroll which I am giving you, and fill your stomach with it.” Then I ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth.

I have never left the commands he has spoken; I have treasured his words more than my own.

Your promises are sweet to me, sweeter than honey in my mouth!

I have taken your words to heart so I would not sin against you.

How I love your teachings! I think about them all day long.

They are worth more than gold, even the purest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even the finest honey.

By them your servant is warned. Keeping them brings great reward.

Your words came to me, and I listened carefully to them. Your words made me very happy, because I am called by your name, Lord God All-Powerful.

Sometimes I say to myself, “I will forget about the Lord. I will not speak anymore in his name.” But then his message becomes like a burning fire inside me, deep within my bones. I get tired of trying to hold it inside of me, and finally, I cannot hold it in.

But I am full of the anger of the Lord, and I am tired of holding it in. “Pour out my anger on the children who play in the street and on the young men gathered together. A husband and his wife will both be caught in his anger, as will the very old.

He opened the scroll in front of me. Funeral songs, sad writings, and words about troubles were written on the front and back.

But you, human, listen to what I say to you. Don’t turn against me as those people do. Open your mouth and eat what I am giving you.”

Then he said to me, “Human, go to the people of Israel, and speak my words to them.

If anyone believes in me, rivers of living water will flow out from that person’s heart, as the Scripture says.”

Let the teaching of Christ live in you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and instruct each other by singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
